Since 1990, the Foundation for Teaching Economics has been conducting teacher training programs for Central European economics teachers, conducting programs in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Over the past 10 years, the programs in Central Europe have helped support democratic and free market reforms, and an in-depth report covering those programs is available from the FTE. In addition, through online courses and partnerships, the FTE has delivered professional development training to teachers in Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and Africa. Working with partners, such as the Institute of International Education, the FTE has delivered course materials around the world. The young leaders who attend FTE programs abroad (and who leave understanding the benefits of free enterprise) will be making policy decisions that affect their countries in the future. The teachers who attend those programs are important because they will influence so many students.
"This program should be attended by as many people as possible because it helps us to understand better the world that we live in."
