	FTE at a Glance The Mission The mission of the FTE is to introduce young individuals, selected for their leadership potential, to an economic way of thinking about national and international issues, and to promote excellence in economic education by helping teachers of economics become more effective educators. Working for You The Foundation offers free workshops for high school educators and students. This site includes workshop dates, locations, and registration information, as well as resources, activities, and lesson plans for teaching economics. Are FTE programs effective? In 2007, students showed a gain of 23 percentage points in scores between pre and post economic tests, conveying a significant advance in their understanding of economics. In all FTE programs, 90% or more of teachers reported that the sessions stimulated their interest and in nearly all programs at least 90% of participants felt their teaching would improve as a result of what they learned.
