Where:            Hotel Monaco, Denver

What:              Working conference, including:

      • Keynote address and extended Q and A with Terry L. Anderson.
      • Panel discussion with: Terry L. Anderson, PERC; F. Scott Kieff, Washington University, St. Louis; P.J. Hill, Wheaton College; Jim Rogers, Texas A&M University; and Andy Morriss, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
      • Required pre-conference readings (275 pages).
      • Small-group guided Socratic discussions.

Who:    PTA members only, by application (limited to 45 participants)

    • Deadline:  Applications must be received by September 10, 2008.
    • Selected attendees notified by September 20, 2008.
    • $200 deposit due with application.  (Deposit refunded at conclusion of program or upon notification of non-acceptance to the program.)
    • Participants responsible for their own travel.

Two nights single occupancy lodging and meals plus $500 stipend provided.
(Attendance at all sessions required for stipend.)

Selection from the applicant pool will reflect the FTE’s desire to assemble a conference group with the following characteristics:

  • commitment to excellence in teaching economic reasoning;
  • diversity of teaching experience, background, current economics-related teaching assignment, and school type;
  • geographic/demographic diversity (regional, rural/urban, etc.).
