Put Yourself on the FTE Radar Screen
FTE occasionally recruits presenters and mentor teachers, as needed to staff teacher workshops and summer programs. In response to inquiries from teachers interested in working more actively with the FTE and to our growing awareness of the depth of the talent pool represented by the PTA, we are creating a process by which PTA members can make their individual interest and talents known.
FTE is looking for active classroom teachers† who are committed to interactive pedagogies; who employ FTE activities in their classrooms; and who have leadership experience in teacher professional development.
PTA members may indicate their interest* by submitting a “teaching portfolio,” including:
• Contact information, including full name, home address and phone, school address and phone, preferred email address, current courses and grade levels taught, other courses and grade levels frequently taught.
• Cover letter detailing your area of interest (Economics for Leaders, Economic Forces in American History, Economics of the Environment, 1-day programs, and/or online instruction); FTE programs attended; and experience using FTE activities in your classroom.
• Vita, including: educational background; teaching experience; experience teaching, mentoring and/or leading adults in professional development.
• 15-30 min. video or DVD: teaching in a student classroom and in an adult professional-development setting. (May not exceed 30 minutes. Must be in a “drop in and play” standard format.)
