2013 Leadership Academy
August 7 – 11
Washington, D.C
“Leadership and Economics” is a revision and extension of our traditional reunion program. In addition to lengthening the time together, it adds a blended learning format that is eligible for 2 semester hours of elective economics college credit. The program expands the economic reasoning skills learned in EFL through pre-program online instruction and then 5 days of activities and projects in the interactive style found in EFL in Washington, D.C. Topics include leadership, history, leadership, government policy, leadership, and economics. Participants are challenged to take their EFL experience to the next level by applying the economic reasoning propositions to historical analysis and to dilemmas of leadership.
In addition to the advance economic and leadership activities, students the have opportunity visit some of city’s great attractions. Participants will stay in Washington D.C. in the Capitol Hill District with room and board provided by FTE. Excluding travel days, alumni spend four full days at the program site, arriving Wednesday afternoon and departing the following Sunday. The only expense to participants will be a $150 program fee, travel to and from the program site, and spending money.
Applications are accepted first come, first served. The program is open to 2011 and 2012 EFL student participants. Once the spaces are filled, applicants will be wait-listed. |
